I'll occasionaly cross post any videogame related rants I write when I'm bored here.
With suggestions for dams.

Had a quick search of the forums and I think I have another river bug to add to the list (If it was posted beofre I missed it).

I took a screenshot of a river running into a lake to show a friend (I know it's a known issue) as seen here:

Welcome to questionably shaped lake

The issue is a few turns later the river took on a completely different appearance.

Guess now I have lots of little lakes.

This starts just before the river reaches the town, it is actualy quite normal in appearance to the west where it is unfortunately covered by the sovereigns portrait.

Debug.err (renamed it for hosting purposes):

I guess the logical assumption would be the townsfolk dammed the river. Which I think owuld be a neat feature. It would be great if you could build damns in rivers near your towns to increase the output of farms there by irrigating them. It could have tactical uses as well. Build a town up river to a rival race. Damn the river and dry out their lands (while making yours more fertile). It would just add another interesting layer to the game.

that is mysterious.   the way it staggers at the mouth of the river is especially strange.   It looks intended for that reason.

I had this happen in the game I just started, so it's not pure fluke.

It looks like the map and the river have the same z-axis value.

Okay, I've been experimenting with this behaviour a bit, after seeing a second river go to a dotted line near one of my villages (which wasn't on it).  I had a screenshot of that but the computer spontaneously shut down again before I got it into a saved file, alas, I'm guessing there are still some overheat problems in the beta.

The trigger I'm getting for it most consistently is when a town's zone of control pops to include the river.  That's obviously not the sole cause from the evidence of the screenshots above, but I was getting it consistently in the game I was trying it in.  Can anyone reproduce and verify?
